Greg is a partner at Hyde Park Venture Partners and has been with the firm since 2014. Prior to HPVP Greg was the COO of Piece & Co. and spent six years at Redbox, where he led the strategy team before leading new venture development and corporate venture investing. Greg has led and manages a number of HPVP investments including Hubdoc (acquired by Xero), Pear Deck (acquired by GoGuardian), Provi, and Frank, among others, and sourced our investments in ShipBob and VNDLY.
Jim is the Talent Advisor and a Partner at Hyde Park Venture Partners and has been with the firm since 2021. In this role, Jim provides strategic talent support and consulting to the firm and portfolio companies.
Prior to Hyde Park Venture Partners, Jim served as head of people at dscout and Sprout Social — both Chicago-based software startups. In these roles, Jim built, grew, and oversaw teams across recruitment, talent management, DEI, culture, HR and benefits strategy. The impact of this work is seen in awards from Glassdoor, Chicago Tribune, Crain’s Chicago, and Built in Chicago. Jim’s early career was in the non-profit and education sectors with Accelerate Institute, and he started his career as a 6th grade teacher. Jim holds a M.S.Ed. in Elementary Education from Northwestern University and a B.A. in Communications from Boston College.
Carlos Covarrubias is an associate at Hyde Park Venture Partners. Prior to HPVP, Carlos was an associate at Mesirow Financial in the Private Equity Real Estate team where he focused on acquisitions and asset management. Additionally, Carlos was a Co-founder and Director at Angeles Investors. He is a Board Member of Chicago-ALPFA and received his BBA at the University of Notre Dame.
Tim is an operating partner at Hyde Park Venture Partners and has been with the firm since 2015. He is currently the Chairman and CEO of portfolio company, Terminus, the leading go-to-market cloud named a leader in the Forrester Wave for 2020. Prior to his current roles, Tim was the CMO of ExactTarget where he helped grow the company to $400M in revenue, through IPO, and to a $2.7B sale to Salesforce. Tim also currently serves on the boards of portfolio companies G2 and VNDLY.
Dawn is an Associate at Hyde Park Venture Partners and has been with the firm since 2021.
Dawn began her career in consulting at IBM focused on analytics and AI solutions. She then joined LogicGate, a Chicago-based RegTech startup, as an early employee where she helped build the customer success and implementation services teams. In an attempt to leave the cold midwest behind, she joined Blend, a San Francisco-based FinTech startup, on their customer success team to scale a new customer segment. But as luck has it, she couldn’t leave for long and is now back in Chicago on a new adventure at HPVP.
Guy has been with HPVP since its beginning in 2011. Prior to HPVP, Guy worked for the Boston Consulting Group where he focused on corporate strategy across a variety of industries. Previously he served as an associate and investing Member with Hyde Park Angels, and spent his early career as a mechanical engineer with Raytheon and General Electric. Guy has led investments in a number of software companies and manages HPVP's investments in Fixer, MarketWagon, Upfront Healthcare, and Zipnosis, among others. Alisa is the Chief Administrative Officer and a Partner at Hyde Park Venture Partners and has been with the firm since 2019. Prior to HPVP, she spent over 17 years at GCM Grosvenor in various roles, most recently as a Principal in Operational Due Diligence, overseeing hedge fund strategies. Alisa began her career as an auditor for Arthur Andersen.
Allison is a Partner at Hyde Park Venture Partners and has been with the firm since 2019. Prior to HPVP Allison ran business operations for Civis Analytics, a Chicago-based data science software startup. She also co-founded Flag Analytics, a predictive analytics company focused on public safety, and spent her early career in healthcare consulting at Accenture.
Ira has been with HPVP since its beginning in 2011, following a decade as a successful angel investor. Ira is also a professor at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, where he teaches entrepreneurship and tax strategy. Ira has been actively investing in private companies for the past 20 years and has made over 125 venture capital and angel investments. He currently serves on the boards of portfolio companies FourKites, ShipBob, Cove Markets, LandscapeHub, 2ndKitchen, PartySlate, and NestEgg, as well as a board observer at Leap.
Olivia is the Operations Manager at Hyde Park Venture Partners and has been with the firm since 2022.
Prior to Hyde Park Venture Partners, Olivia served as Recreation Supervisor for the Village of Lincolnwood in Illinois. In this role, Olivia provided many recreational opportunities for the community including public events and recreational programming ranging from early childhood to active adult. Olivia is a member of several associations including Illinois Parks and Recreation Association, National Recreation and Parks Association and Women in Leisure Services. Along with serving as a past IPRA New Professionals Committee Chair, she is a Certified Parks and Recreation Professional within NRPA. Additionally, she serves as an Alumnae Board Member of her alma mater, Regina Dominican High School, which provides an all-female focused education.
Olivia holds a Masters in Business Administration from the Brennan School of Business and a Bachelors in Corporate Communications, both from Dominican University in River Forest, Illinois.
